The David Snowdon Trust was delighted to support this inspiring Lake District fundraising challenge, which brought together hospitality professionals for a five-day wellbeing walk along the 73-mile Cumbria Way.

Organised by the Lake District Hotels Association (LDHA), the initiative raised more than £11,000 for Hospitality Action, a charity supporting those in the hospitality industry facing challenges such as mental health issues, financial hardship, illness and addiction. Walkers completed sections of the route from Ulverston to Carlisle, led by Craig Shaw of James Hallam Insurance Brokers, who undertook the full journey.

The David Snowdon Trust contributed £5,000 to the fundraising effort, proud to back an event that reflects the values of our founder, David Snowdon – a Cumbrian businessman with strong roots in the hospitality sector.

A wide range of organisations across the hospitality sector also played a vital role in supporting the initiative, including LWC Drinks, Caterite, Langdale Leisure, Langdale Chase, Classic Lodges, Another Place The Lake, Burn How Hotel, Windermere Lake Cruises and Storrs Hall, alongside participating teams from across the industry.

With additional support from across the sector, the event showcased the strength, unity and resilience of the hospitality industry – something the David Snowdon Trust is honoured to champion.
